What is Split PDF?
Split PDF lets you pull specific pages out of a PDF or break a large document into several smaller files. Type page ranges like “1-3, 7, 10-12”, choose how you want them saved, and download the result in seconds.
Everything runs locally in your browser. Your document is never uploaded to a server, which makes this a safe way to separate pages from contracts, statements, scanned IDs or any other sensitive PDF.
How to use Split PDF
Get it done in 4 simple steps — no installation or account needed.
- Choose or drop the PDF you want to split. The page count appears once it loads.
- Pick a mode: “Extract pages into one PDF”, “Ranges as separate files” or “Every page separately”.
- For the first two modes, type the pages you need — for example “1-3, 5, 8-10”. Leave a range open-ended like “9-” to go to the last page.
- Click “Split PDF”. You’ll get a single PDF, or a ZIP file when several PDFs are created.
Limitations & supported browsers
Works in the latest Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari (Mac, iPhone and iPad) and Samsung Internet. Because processing happens on your device, speed and maximum file size depend on your device’s memory.
- Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked before splitting.
- Bookmarks and links that point to pages outside the extracted range are not kept.
- Very large PDFs (hundreds of MB) may run out of memory on phones.

Split PDF — frequently asked questions
Can I extract non-consecutive pages?
Yes. Separate pages and ranges with commas, e.g. “2, 4, 6-8”. In “Extract pages into one PDF” mode they are combined in that order.
Is there a page limit?
No fixed limit. Documents with hundreds of pages work fine on most devices.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Everything is processed locally in your browser using JavaScript. Your files never leave your device, and nothing is stored on our side.
How do I write page ranges?
Use commas and dashes, e.g. “1-3, 5, 8-10”. In “Ranges as separate files” mode each comma-separated group becomes its own PDF.
