What is Image Cropper?

Image Cropper lets you crop photos precisely with a draggable frame. Crop freely, or pick a ready-made ratio for Instagram posts and stories, YouTube thumbnails, LinkedIn, X and more — then export at the exact pixel size each platform recommends.

You can also rotate and flip the image, and download as JPG, PNG or WebP. Everything happens in your browser, so your photos are never uploaded.

How to use Image Cropper

Get it done in 4 simple steps — no installation or account needed.

  1. Choose or drop an image.
  2. Pick a preset (e.g. Instagram post 1:1) or free crop.
  3. Drag the frame and its corners to choose the area; rotate or flip if needed.

Image Cropper — frequently asked questions

What size is an Instagram post?

Square posts are 1080 × 1080 px (1:1), portrait posts 1080 × 1350 px (4:5), and stories/reels 1080 × 1920 px (9:16).

Does cropping reduce quality?

Cropping itself doesn’t. Exporting at a preset size may scale the image; PNG keeps every pixel, while JPG and WebP use high-quality compression.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Everything is processed locally in your browser using JavaScript. Your files never leave your device, and nothing is stored on our side.
