What is Online Notepad?
Online Notepad is a clean, distraction-free place to jot things down. Everything you type is saved automatically in your browser, so your notes are still there when you come back — no sign-up, no cloud account and nothing uploaded.
Keep several notes, rename and delete them, see live word and character counts, and download any note as a .txt file or open an existing text file. Focus mode hides everything except your writing.
How to use Online Notepad
Get it done in 4 simple steps — no installation or account needed.
- Start typing — your note is saved automatically.
- Click “New note” to start another; switch between notes in the list.
- Rename a note by editing its title, or delete it with the trash icon.
- Download a note as .txt to keep a copy or move it to another device.
Limitations & supported browsers
Works in the latest Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari (Mac, iPhone and iPad) and Samsung Internet. Because processing happens on your device, speed and maximum file size depend on your device’s memory.
- Notes are stored only in this browser. Clearing site data or using private/incognito mode deletes them — download important notes.
- Plain text only; formatting like bold or images isn’t supported.
