About AppsOcean
AppsOcean is a growing collection of 51 free web tools for everyday digital tasks — working with PDFs and images, writing, coding, design and quick calculations. No downloads, no installations, no accounts.
Privacy
Every tool on AppsOcean runs locally in your browser using JavaScript and modern web APIs. When you pick a file, it is read by your own device and never uploaded to our servers. We don’t store your files, text or results.
- Preferences like dark mode, your world clock cities and “recently used” tools are saved in your browser’s local storage only.
- We use Google Analytics and Cloudflare to understand aggregate, anonymous traffic (e.g. which tools are popular).
- To improve the tools, we record anonymous usage events such as “a tool was started”, “a download completed” or “an error occurred”, along with coarse details like the file type, number of files and a size range (e.g. “1–10 MB”). We never send file contents, file names, text you type, passwords or calculator inputs.
- Chill Radio streams audio directly from SomaFM; your browser connects to their servers to play it.
- Background Remover downloads an open-source AI model from Hugging Face and the AI runtime from jsDelivr the first time you use it. Only these program files are downloaded — your photo is processed on your device and never sent to them or to us. Passport Photo Maker uses the same model.
- Image to Text downloads the OCR engine and language data from jsDelivr on first use, and HEIC to JPG may download an open-source HEIC decoder. Again, only program files are downloaded — your images stay on your device.
- Mic Test and Webcam Test use your microphone and camera only inside your browser tab; nothing is recorded or transmitted.
