What is GST Calculator?
GST Calculator works out Goods and Services Tax in both directions. Add GST to a base price to get the final amount, or remove GST from an inclusive price to find the original value and the tax included in it.
Choose a rate — 5%, 18% and 40% under the current structure, special rates like 0.25% and 3%, or any custom rate — and see the split into CGST and SGST for sales within a state, or IGST for sales between states. Handy for invoices, quotations and checking bills.
How to use GST Calculator
Get it done in 4 simple steps — no installation or account needed.
- Enter the amount.
- Choose “Add GST” if the amount excludes tax, or “Remove GST” if it already includes tax.
- Pick the GST rate, or type a custom one.
- Choose intra-state (CGST + SGST) or inter-state (IGST) to see the breakdown.
How GST Calculator calculates results
- Add GST: GST = amount × rate ÷ 100, and total = amount + GST.
- Remove GST: base = inclusive amount ÷ (1 + rate ÷ 100), and GST = inclusive amount − base.
- Intra-state supply: GST is split equally into CGST and SGST (or UTGST). Inter-state supply and imports: the full amount is IGST.
- Amounts are rounded to 2 decimal places for display. Rates shown reflect the structure in force since 22 September 2025 (5%, 18% and 40%, plus special rates); always confirm the rate for your HSN/SAC code.
For invoicing and filing, follow the rates and rules notified by the GST Council and CBIC. This calculator is for quick estimates only.
