What is QR Code Scanner?
QR Code Scanner reads QR codes using your camera, or from a photo or screenshot you upload or paste. It shows exactly what the code contains — a link, text, Wi-Fi details, contact or email — so you can check it before opening anything.
Links are shown in full first, which helps you spot suspicious “quishing” codes. Scanning happens entirely in your browser: the camera feed and images never leave your device.
How to use QR Code Scanner
Get it done in 4 simple steps — no installation or account needed.
- Click “Scan with camera” and allow camera access, or upload/paste an image of a QR code.
- Hold the code steady in front of the camera until it’s recognized.
- Read the decoded content — links, text or Wi-Fi details.
- Copy the result, or open the link if you trust it.
Limitations & supported browsers
Works in the latest Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari (Mac, iPhone and iPad) and Samsung Internet. Because processing happens on your device, speed and maximum file size depend on your device’s memory.
- Camera scanning needs camera permission. If you blocked it, click the camera icon in the address bar to allow it again.
- Very small, blurry or damaged codes may not be readable — move closer or use better light.
- Reads QR codes only (not barcodes like EAN or Code 128).
